The work of craftsman from 1910 to 1930 during the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau eras are still as timeless and exciting today as they were then. In fact original dragonfly mica lamps from Dirk Van Erp\'s original turn of the century San Francisco studio are so rare and sought after that collectors will often pay in excess of $160,000 for the privilege of owning one. Now through this museum quality reissue you can experience the same grandeur of this timeless design without burning a whole in your bankbook. Every detail has been painstakingly handcrafted just like the originals made by artisans over 90 years ago. From the forged metal casting and hand hammered rivets to the hand finished mahogany bronze wash, nothing has been left to chance. And while you\'ll truly appreciate the metal craftsmanship it will still be the glow of the lamp that makes your eyes light up. Each shade has been hand-pressed out of natural mineral mica flakes just like the originals. That means that no two lamps are ever alike. Due to the natural variations in mica mineral deposits each lamp shade has its own unique pattern and amber color hue. Look closely at the table lamp model and you\'ll notice intricate dragonfly metal work with hand-blown glass. A 15W bulb creates an incredible glasswork glow. The floor model is designed with a weighted base for superior stability. Both lamps have two bulb sockets for 40W-60W light bulbs. And both include dual pull chains as well as a rotary switch built-in to the power cord. In fact the replication has been found to be so flawless that even some collectors have had trouble telling it from an original.
